How to select keywords to rank for?

What are the keywords you will have to rank for to get better traffic? How will you know whether this keyword you select can bring in people and generate an income for you? Are these questions often on your mind while trying to make an income online? Don't worry, I'm here to answer your questions. :P

Well, before we go on about how to select the specific keywords, there is something you have to know. There are two types of keywords. And the wrong selection of the keyword is often the reason why even though you have traffic, you do not generate income. That is because you have been selecting the wrong keywords to rank for.

So what is the secret?

Here's a very small post. Just for the people who are still cribbing about which niche you should select, here is a tip. Take any niche! Yes, I have said that all niches are not profitable, but so what? You can start by learning how to create traffic first. Because our main aim is to attract free organic traffic. Once you learn how to attract traffic, you will easily be able to rake in the money!!! But if you are still not convinced, i will give you another push; here are some niches which will never die, in other words they are evergreen!

Indexing of domain name

As you can see the domain name has been indexed within a few hours. With the proper domain name and meta tags, meta description you can easily index your websites to Google within a few hours.

Selection of the domain name

Now that we have selected a niche, we need to select a domain name for the new website. For those who are just beginning with Internet Marketing or are new to this world, domain names are the addresses we put in the address bar of the web browser to reach a certain page. Now let us select the domain name. 

Domain name is one of the most important aspects of SEO for any website. If a correct domain name is selected it gives a huge push to our search engine page results or SERPs.

For selection of domain name we will use the free keyword tool provided by Google itself. Go to https://adwords.google.com and then select the "Reporting and Tools" and then "Keyword Tool". After that we will put our search term as "Travel" and to get more specific traffic, we will choose "Travel India".

How to select a profitable niche?

So before going on to the actual subject let's know what is a niche? 

A niche is a topic or a subject. However all topics or niches do not have very good profit. For example there are a few evergree niches like "weight loss programs" which are always attracting visitors and traffic from the web. But the real question is how to know whether a niche is profitable or not?

A niche can be deemed profitable if it is attracting traffic to it. We can use several tools to check these. I'll tell you about a few very good free keyword research in my "How to do keyword" research post. Till then, lets just use Google Adwords keyword research tool.

Just for the purpose of this tutorial, I'll create a website using free domain and do the keyword research and all the other stuffs for it. It will be part of this tutorial series and also a trial to see whether my method really works or not! So let's start.
